Originally from Montréal, Marianne Sung currently lives and works in Toronto. Radiating warmth and light, her art sparks feelings of magic and nostalgia. Often using neon hues, Sung’s varied colours, shades, and marks are applied in thin, transparent layers of acrylic onto canvas and paper. Influenced by her deep connections to places and things in her current home of Ontario, her upbringing in Québec and travels worldwide, Sung works at the intersection between the natural and digital, blurring the real and unreal; exploring themes of refuge, bonding and belonging.
