This client's varied tastes define her collection. From traditional to contemporary, small and large works find a home in almost every corner.
Last Friday I headed out with Lisa to document one of her oldest friend's art collection. Lisa and Janice have known each other since they were sixteen years old, and Janice has been a devoted client of Art Interiors since the very beginning. It was thrilling to see the variety of artists in her collection, spanning the history of the gallery, including her most recent acquisition: Erin Rothstein's Kiss from this years Festival of Smalls.
Devoted clients/sisters Ilyse, Hailey and Lesley Lustig have been passionately collecting art for years. For milestones (from birthdays, to new babies), it is not uncommon for two of the lovely Lustig ladies to spend hours in the gallery in search for the perfect gift for their sister. With these personal narratives in mind, I was especially excited to see Ilyse's collection. Despite getting ready for a big move, Ilyse invited me to her home, which she shares with her husband and two children. We talked life, love, and the great fortune of having sisters.
I rode the QEW Hamilton Express last Saturday, armed with a bottle of wine, and a small Elizabeth Lennie painting in hand. The destination: a bright and beautiful condo near Locke St., home to newlyweds Erika Woods (former Art Interiors' Manager!) and Brenden Desjardins.
