Last Sunday morning I made my way to a loft in the west end, home to Edward Griffith and Tamara Robbins Griffith, Managing Editor of Style at Home. While I cradled their eleven week old kitten, Winston, in my arms, Tamara gave me a tour of their chic and cozy home. Her passion for art and design is evident in every detail of their stylish space.
Above the fireplace is one of the most common areas where people look for ‘the piece.’ We often attempt to push clients out of their comfort zone – why not try a vertical piece in a horizontal space, or an eclectic grouping, or a pairing with objects and old family photos?
The kitchen is the heart of the home. Fine art in the kitchen serves to increase the soulfulness of the room where so many hours are spent. Lisa's cozy, bright space is a perfect example.
It was an exceptionally busy Festival of Smalls opening, with tonnes of little works finding new homes. Curious to see examples of smalls groupings in private spaces, I asked our fabulous web designer, and client, Steven Ishiwara to send us a picture of his recent acquisitions. In their bedroom, Steven and Brad grouped six of Greg Shegler's bold dollar bill works, creating a dramatic wall in a minimal space.
