Rana Baidas is a Canadian artist, originally from Jordan. After earning her degree in Fine Arts from Yarmouk University in Jordan, she lived in Dubai for almost a decade where, at the crossroads of cultures, she found opportunities to explore various forms of art. Since resettling in Toronto, Canada, she has developed a distinctively evocative body of figurative paintings in oil and acrylic.
“I am a contemporary figurative painter. My art explores the essence of people. I'm always searching for scenes that catch my eye to develop into paintings. Painting allows me to create a composition onto a two- dimensional surface giving an illusion of space and depth. Aiming to achieve a balance of simplicity and a reflection of sincerity and calmness. “ - R.B.
